‘Echoes on the Lake’ features a scene at Taylor’s Lake, in suburban Melbourne. Not far from the highway, cars can be heard but the bird songs take center stage. Finding a place of still and quiet amongst city living is possible, but the influences of modern life still find their way into my art. In my art practice I have come to embrace this duality, as I seek to capture the landscape in a way that celebrates the urban and contemporary influences that infiltrate my daily life. The use of a wide range of techniques and mediums help me to express and celebrate this and to develop a unique artistic voice.
